The University Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Week Celebration metamorphosed from a single tabo-tabo in 2002, which typified a mini-market where product and technology vendors converged to showcase and sell their produce. It was a success which encouraged the University Extension Unit to reach out and touch more stakeholders. This was the impetus of hosting the first ever University Extension Week in 2005. The activity involved the extension coordinators and the extension and development projects of the colleges. Farmers and homemaker-cooperators, partners in development, community experts, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders were invited. Since then, it became institutionalized as an annual event of the University Extension Office. Cognizant of the fact that extension initiatives are based on research products and that research and extension are inseparable elements of development, the7th RDE Week Celebration is conducted with the theme:“Equitable Access to Research and Technology Services for Inclusive Growth.”
