Central Mindanao University Academic Paradise of the South
In its continued pursuit of good governance, transparency, better coordination, and stronger partnerships with its valued suppliers and contractors, Central Mindanao University (CMU) held its 3rd Suppliers’ Forum in a hybrid setup on August 25, 2026, at the College of Engineering Atrium.
This year’s Suppliers’ Forum, themed “Building Stronger Partnerships for Transparent and Efficient Procurement,” provided a venue for the University and its suppliers to communicate and coordinate on procurement-related matters, including the University’s procurement processes, requirements, policies, and procedures.
The activity also provided an opportunity to discuss concerns, clarify expectations, and exchange feedback to support the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services to the University.
In his welcome remarks, Prof. Hermie P. Pava, Vice President for Administration, highlighted Republic Act No. 12009, also known as the “New Government Procurement Act,” which prescribes the necessary rules and regulations for the procurement activities of the Government of the Philippines (GoP), in accordance with the state policies and principles declared under the Act.
“Our intention is really to have a transparent, accountable, rule-based, and participative procurement process for Central Mindanao University, with you [suppliers and contractors] as our active partners,” Prof. Pava affirmed.
Moreover, Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, University President, emphasized in his inspirational message the importance of the Suppliers’ Forum as part of the University’s continuing commitment to building strong partnerships and fostering meaningful collaboration with suppliers and contractors in the procurement of goods, services, and infrastructure.
“We want every engagement to be anchored on the core principles of good governance that our University upholds: transparency, accountability, rule of law, and, of course, participation or consultation,” Dr. Eballe asserted.
The forum covered topics on the Procurement Process, Item Receiving Process, Inspection Process, Infrastructure Project Monitoring and Implementation Process, Accounting and Auditing Process, Cashier and Other Bank Transactions, Supplier Delivery and Performance Monitoring, Common Delivery Issues Affecting Accounts Payable Monitoring and Reporting, and Branding Information Campaign.
In addition, participants were given the opportunity to raise their concerns and queries and seek clarification on CMU’s procurement processes.
The Suppliers’ Forum was organized by the Office of Administrative Services, Office of Finance Management and Services, Office of Digital Transformation, Office of the Bids and Awards Committee, Supply and Property Management Unit, and Office of the Inspectorate Team for Supply and Materials, with documentation provided by the Office of Public Relations and Information.
The activity contributes to the University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
