CMU inaugurates Farmers Technology Hub

Central Mindanao University (CMU) officially opened its new Farmers Technology Hub on October 15, 2026, following a ceremonial blessing, turnover, and ribbon-cutting held on campus.

The new facility represents a strategic investment in both the local agricultural sector and the university community. In partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the hub will provide opportunities for agricultural learning, technical skills training, technology sharing, and livelihood development aimed at helping local farmers improve productivity and quality of life.

“Through our partnership with TESDA, we hope this facility will provide opportunities for agricultural learning, technical skills training, technology sharing, and livelihood development to help our farmers improve productivity and quality of life,” said Dr. Rolito G. Eballe.

Beyond its primary function as an agricultural extension and training facility, the building is designed to serve as a versatile space for the wider campus.

“Beyond its primary purpose, the facility can also serve as a venue for recreational, wellness, and other activities for our students, faculty, and personnel, making it a valuable space for the wider university community,” Dr. Eballe added.

As the university marked the milestone, Dr. Eballe expressed gratitude to all project contributors.

“As we mark this turnover and ribbon-cutting, may this building become a place of learning, collaboration, and opportunity—strengthening our support for farmers and advancing CMU’s service to the community,” Dr. Eballe stated.

Bukidnon 3rd District Representative Audrey Kay Tan-Zubiri called the event a concrete step toward investing in the future of the province’s agriculture sector.

“The CMU Farmers Technology Hub reflects our continuing commitment to addressing poverty, strengthening rural livelihoods, and supporting the men and women who work tirelessly to feed our nation,” Rep. Zubiri said.

She added that the Techno Hub will give farmers access to modern agricultural technologies and new techniques to help address ongoing industry challenges, serving as a vital bridge between CMU’s academic research, TESDA’s technical programs, and the practical needs of local farmers.

Also present were members of the University Administrative Council, delegates from TESDA Bukidnon, Rodnet Builders, Inc. CEO/President Engr. Roduard Michael C. Butillo, and Maramag Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. John Lester Tan-Malack Tan.

This new facility supports the University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
