“CMU ATBI declares 9 Incubatees as Graduates of the ATBI Program”
Central Mindanao University Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (CMU ATBI) celebrated the graduation of nine (9) incubatees who completed the basic and advanced incubation programs. The graduation ceremony was held on March 22, 2023, at the Mushroom City Company in Kalasungay, Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
The event, themed “Business Incubation & Technopreneurship: Taking the Agri-Aqua Businesses to the Next Level!” was a special occasion that was graced by several notable figures. The CMU IPTBM Director Vellorimo J. Suminguit opened the program with inspiring remarks, followed by an inspirational video message from TTPD-PCAARRD Director Noel Catibog.
The ceremony was facilitated by Prof. Sheila C. Poonon, who presented the incubatees for graduation and confirmed by Director Emmanuel Leaño, representing the CMU University President. In his message of solidarity to the graduates, Director Leaño acknowledged the potential of the incubatees in the agriculture and aquaculture industries.
A response message was given by Mr. Edsel James Quemado, one of the owners of Mushroom City and a representative of the incubatees. He expresses his gratitude for the opportunity, assistance, and service beyond measure given to them by the CMU ATBI team.
Dr. Ruth C. Diego, the ATBI National Project Head, also greeted the graduates, congratulating them on their achievements and encouraging them to continue their journey toward success. The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Karen Debbie J. Cosrojas, a CMU ATBI Project Staff member.
The graduates who completed the basic incubation program were D’Meter Agri-Trading, MUGNA Leather Arts, Naturesbounty Organique Fertilizer Services, Bencals Food Products, and Louella’s Plant Nursery. Meanwhile, the graduates who completed the advanced incubation program were from Mushroom City, Luyong Mushroom Integrated Farm, Buhi Producers Cooperatives, and Nature’s Gift Mushroom Farm.
This graduation ceremony showcased the efforts of CMU ATBI in supporting and nurturing promising start-ups and spin-offs not only in the agri-aqua but in other sectors as well. With the help of this program, these graduates are now equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in their respective fields that will propel their businesses to the next level.
