In its commitment to excellence and service, Central Mindanao University, through the Office of Human Resource Management (OHRM), conducted a University-Wide Seminar themed “Fostering Digital Hygiene and Quality Assurance Awareness for Global Excellence,” held on December 19, 2024, at the University Convention Center.
The seminar highlighted the importance of maintaining ethical, responsible, and efficient practices in the digital sphere. It also underscored CMU’s commitment to global competitiveness through steadfast adherence to quality standards.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, University President (represented by Prof. Erwin P. Ambasa, Assistant Director of the Office of Quality Assurance), shared CMU’s notable accomplishments of the year, including Enhanced Accreditation Achievements, Institutional Policy Integration, Capacity-Building Initiatives, Stakeholder Engagement, and ISO Compliance.
Dr. Eballe reminded the CMU community that fostering digital hygiene is not just a technical task—it is a moral imperative in an increasingly interconnected world. Furthermore, quality assurance is not merely about compliance; it is about ensuring that, as an academic institution, CMU continues to thrive and lead in a global arena, according to Dr. Eballe.
Moreover, the first speaker, Prof. Kent Levi A. Bonifacio, a faculty member from the College of Information Sciences and Computing, talked about Digital Hygiene and focused on protecting digital life and work data among CMU’s faculty and staff. He also encouraged CMU employees to be responsible in using university devices.
Furthermore, Eng. Angelita S. Aguilar spoke about Quality Assurance Awareness, encouraging the University to push for the continual development of quality management and processes. In addition, the university-wide seminar concluded with an open forum. [Mary Jane D. Bravo]
