CMU earns 2026 Most Outstanding Nutrition and Dietetics Student award
A Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) student from Central Mindanao University (CMU) was recognized as one of the 2026 Most Outstanding Nutrition and Dietetics Students during the 79th Anniversary and 2026 Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Nutrition (PAN), Inc.

Ms. Rishelle Mae D. Tolin, BSND, received the distinction, which recognizes PAN student members who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, service, innovation, and contributions to the advancement of nutrition and dietetics.
Tolin’s recognition highlights her three-year commitment to the Philippine Association of Nutrition – Alpha Pi Chapter (PAN-AP). She served as Treasurer in AY 2023–2024, Chairperson in AY 2024–2025, and currently serves as the chapter’s Fourth-Year Representative for AY 2025–2026.
“Being named the 2026 Philippine Association of Nutrition (PAN) Most Outstanding Nutrition and Dietetics Student feels incredibly surreal, and I know that this recognition is not mine alone,” Tolin shared.
She also expressed her gratitude to her mentors in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (DND) for their guidance and support, to her family for their unwavering love and encouragement, and to her fellow student leaders for the experiences and journey they shared throughout her years of service.
Meanwhile, Dr. Allene Mae N. Marapao, Chairperson of the DND, extended her warmest congratulations to Tolin, recognizing the significance of the achievement to the university community.
“Her achievement brings great honor and pride to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, the College of Human Ecology, and Central Mindanao University,” Dr. Marapao said.
Beyond PAN-AP, Tolin also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Home Views, extending her leadership and service through student journalism and communication.
Moreover, Tolin’s academic and leadership achievements have likewise been recognized by the BSND program. She is an Academic Excellence Awardee for attaining the highest general weighted average (GWA) in the program and an Exceptional Leadership Awardee — the department’s highest recognitions for academic and leadership excellence, respectively.
The 79th Anniversary and 2026 Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Nutrition (PAN), Inc. was held virtually via Zoom on August 18-20, 2026.
