Central Mindanao University Academic Paradise of the South
New scholars of the Bounty Cares Foundation, Inc. and Marsman-Drysdale Foundation, Inc., began their scholarship journey at Central Mindanao University through orientation programs held at the Office of Quality Assurance.
For students pursuing their dreams in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and related fields, a scholarship can provide more than financial assistance. It can open doors to opportunities and give them the tools they need to succeed.
This opportunity was extended to a new group of scholars under the Bounty Cares Foundation, Inc. and Marsman-Drysdale Foundation, Inc., who participated in orientation activities at Central Mindanao University (CMU) together with their parents.
According to Dr. Cherly C. Cordova, Director of the Office of Academic and Student Programs (OASP), this year’s scholars represent the third batch of Bounty Cares scholars at CMU, reflecting the foundation’s continuing partnership with the university in supporting students’ education.
As part of the Bounty Cares Scholarship Program, scholars and their parents attended the orientation and contract signing, followed by the distribution of five laptops to the scholars. The laptops provide essential digital tools to support their academic work, research, communication, and other learning activities.
Bounty Cares representatives Ms. Leny A. Prado and Ms. Christine Janelle J. Baldoza led the activity with the support of OASP Scholarship Unit Head Dr. Freddielyn B. Pontemayor, Scholarship In-charge Ms. Ann L. Carreon, and faculty representatives from the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
In an interview, scholar Junexia S. Canada, a BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student, said being selected was an unexpected but welcome opportunity. After going through a challenging application process, she was grateful to learn that she had been accepted.
“This opportunity means so much to me, and I promise that I will not waste it,” Canada said, pledging to work hard and make the most of the scholarship.
Fellow scholar Jezril S. Bacasmot, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student, likewise described receiving the scholarship as a blessing and an inspiration to work harder toward his goals. The laptop he received added to the significance of the occasion, giving him a practical resource for his studies.
Meanwhile, new scholars under the Marsman-Drysdale Foundation, Inc. participated in a separate orientation at GS 2. Foundation representatives Mae Pearl A. Ulla and Joseph T. Gader introduced the scholars to the foundation’s expectations, values, and support for their academic and personal development.
The activities were held on July 31, 2026, as the university and its scholarship partners welcomed scholars for Academic Year 2026–2027 and marked another step in their continuing efforts to expand educational opportunities through partnerships that invest in student development.
