Expanded internship opportunities, industry exposure, and potential employment pathways for students were among the initiatives discussed during a meeting between Central Mindanao University (CMU) and Virginia Food, Inc. (VFI) on May 28.
The meeting, held at the Office of Quality Assurance Conference Hall, the meeting brought together representatives from both institutions to discuss ways to strengthen industry-academe linkages and better prepare students for the workforce.

Discussions focused on a proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which is currently being finalized and is expected to serve as the framework for future collaborative programs and activities.
Among the initiatives being considered are internship and on-the-job training opportunities, campus recruitment activities, career development programs, skills enhancement workshops, and potential job placement pathways for graduates. The proposed collaboration may also include company presentations, mock interviews, résumé-writing sessions, and sponsorship opportunities that support university programs and student engagement activities.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to preparing students for meaningful careers while addressing industry needs,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jose S. Valmorida. “By working closely with Virginia Food, Inc., we can bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice,” he added.

“Virginia Food, Inc. is proud to collaborate with CMU in nurturing future talent,” said Mary Grace C. Famero, VFI representative. “We believe this partnership will create pathways for students to thrive in the workforce and contribute to the growth of the industry,” she added.
The meeting was attended by VFI representatives Mary Grace C. Famero, Jessabel Lyn C. Haya, and Hannah Praise T. Noya, alongside CMU officials, including Office of Admissions Scholarships and Placement Director Cheryl C.
