CMU hospital conducts 1st Buntis Day

Central Mindanao University Hospital conducted its 1st Buntis Day on April 4, 2013. The theme was “Kalinga ni Nanay, Karugtong ng Buhay”. Holding of this activity aimed to educate the pregnant mothers on proper care and handling of new born babies and infants and promote regular prenatal session for pregnant mothers and how important the new born screening for babies.

In the opening program, Dr. Jennelyn Joy C. Tizuela, Coordinator of this activity gave the welcome address. Series of lectures on prenatal care and care of the new born baby and onwards were done by Dr. John Raymond Palmares and Dr. Aurfeli T. Emperio, respectively. The DKT Drug Company Philippines, one of the sponsors of this activity presented about family planning purposely to remind those who have been mothers and educate those soon to be mothers about their responsibilities toward their new born babies including their health.

A contest for Miss Buntis 2013 made the affair more fun.  Mrs. Diana Rose M. Colinares won the contest.

 A free Pre-natal check up for pregnant mothers followed immediately after the program. A total of 14 pregnant mothers took advantage of this activity. (FCTizuela and KDZambas/UPIO).
