CMU secures regular membership in Southeast Asia’s leading agricultural university network

Three years after joining as an affiliate member, Central Mindanao University (CMU) has officially been accepted as a regular member of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC-SEARCA), marking a major milestone in the University’s international engagements.

The announcement was made following the presentation of CMU’s UC Report during the 38th UC-SEARCA Executive Board Meeting on November 20, 2025, at Tokyo University of Agriculture (Tokyo NODAI), attended by representatives from UC member universities across Southeast Asia and partner institutions.

The presentation was delivered by the University President and UC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, together with Dr. Jose S. Valmorida, Vice President for Academic Affairs and UC Executive Officer, and Dr. Judith D. Intong, Dean of the College of Agriculture and UC Coordinator. Their report highlighted CMU’s strong research output, robust graduate programs, effective coordination with other UC members, and active participation in consortium initiatives.

Reflecting on the achievement, Pres. Eballe said, “I am extremely happy. This will pave the way for more projects and activities in agriculture and other related areas at Central Mindanao University.”

As a regular member, CMU now gains expanded access to scholarships, faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and student mobility opportunities, further strengthening its regional and international partnerships.

The university expresses its gratitude to UC-SEARCA for this recognition and thanks its administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners whose dedication and collaboration contributed to this milestone. This recognition inspires CMU to continue advancing excellence, strengthening collaborations, and supporting sustainable development, agricultural innovation, and capacity-building efforts across Southeast Asia.
