Central Mindanao University (CMU) was recognized during the ASEAN Celebration and Regional Quality Awards 2025 held on August 19, 2025, at the Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City, hosted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X.
The university was recognized for its consistent excellence in Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) licensure examinations for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Over this period, CMU secured the second rank nationwide for the highest number of topnotchers and placed fourth among the top-performing schools in the region. The university’s board exam performance was particularly notable for its high passing rates, including a 100% passing rate in both the November 2024 Nutritionists-Dietitians Licensure Examination and the November 2024 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination, where it ranked first.
CMU’s strong performance across diverse fields is underscored by its graduates who placed among the top ten in the following examinations:
- Veterinarian Licensure Exam – Top 1 & 8 (October 2024)
- Chemist Licensure Exam – Top 2 (December 2023)
- Licensure Exam for Teachers, Secondary Level – Top 4 (September 2024), Top 5, 7, & 8 (March 2025)
- Master Plumber Board Exam – Top 4 (February 2025)
- Forester Licensure Exam – Top 6 (October 2024)
- Civil Engineer Licensure Exam – Top 8 (November 2024)
- Nurse Licensure Exam – Top 8, 9, & 10 (November 2024)
- Licensure Exam for Teachers, Secondary Level – Top 9 & 10 (September 2024)
CMU was also recognized for its associate membership in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). The university was also acknowledged for its dedication to the internationalization of Philippine Higher Education and its achievements in the global ranking and ratings. The university was listed in the 851-900 bracket of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings, earning a 3-star rating for its overall performance, which signifies that the institution is well-regarded. Furthermore, CMU was included in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, where it placed in the 1501+ band, and was ranked 184th in The World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025.
