In its commitment to providing excellent services and strengthening its admissions processes, the Central Mindanao University (CMU) Admissions Board, led by University President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, successfully conducted a pilot test and benchmarking activity for the Central Mindanao University Admission Test (CMUCAT) at Bohol Island State University (BISU) on August 18, 2025.
BISU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, and Director for Student Welfare, Dr. Maria Dina E. Golosino, warmly welcomed the CMU team during their visit. The pilot test engaged BISU freshmen, who were assessed in English, Science, Mathematics, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The CMU team commended the students for their exemplary discipline and courtesy, as well as the outstanding kindness and hospitality demonstrated by the BISU faculty and staff.
Moreover, BISU was selected as the venue for the pilot testing due to its regional location and the absence of any recorded CMUCAT takers from the area.
In addition to the pilot testing, the CMU delegation also conducted a benchmarking activity at BISU’s Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), the first Fablab established among state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines. The facility is renowned for producing multi-awarded designs, recognized both nationally and internationally. The visit also sparked productive discussions on a future partnership between CMU and BISU, aimed at establishing CMU’s own Fablab with guidance and support from BISU.
This initiative reflects CMU’s ongoing efforts to enhance its admissions system and ensure a more effective and standardized testing experience for prospective students.
