After a comprehensive three-day evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., Central Mindanao University (CMU) was lauded for its impactful extension programs and their contributions to community development, research, and academic excellence during the closing program on October 23, 2025.

Dr. Jonar I. Yago, AACCUP Overall Coordinator I and Lead Accreditor for the MS programs in Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Soil Science, emphasized that the extension activities of these programs embody a results-based, socio-economic, and participatory impact framework.
Dr. Yago further noted that student-enriched competencies are effectively translated into real-world applications such as mushroom agripreneurship, organic farming technologies, and soil fertility management practices.
“These initiatives, supported by DOST-funded facilities and guided by CMU faculty, have evolved into ATI-accredited learning sites and TESDA-certified competencies, creating a ripple effect of agripreneurs and community-based enterprises not only in Bukidnon but across the Philippines,” Dr. Yago added.

Moreover, Dr. Noli L. Gerona, AACCUP Overall Coordinator II, commended the Doctor of Philosophy in Entomology program for its strong academic and research orientation. He noted that the program “exemplifies excellence in advanced scientific training and research,” producing globally competitive graduates who are well-prepared for leadership roles in the field.
Dr. Gerona further underscored that the program’s rigorous foundation and steadfast commitment to quality education have strengthened the professional competencies and international recognition of its alumni, a reflection of the university’s dedication to innovation and global engagement in the agricultural sciences.
In addition, Dr. Gerona highlighted that both the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical Sciences major in Mathematics Education programs demonstrated remarkable and commendable achievements across all evaluated areas.
The programs visited showed clear alignment with the university’s mission and a strong commitment to academic excellence in research, extension, and community service.
