CMU included in top 10 PH universities based on Webometrics Ranking

CMU ranks 10th in the Philippines according to the released Webometrics Ranking of World Universities on January 2021.

The Webometrics Ranking is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas’ (CSIS) owned research group based in Spain dedicated to analyzing the scientific activity quantitatively on the web. It is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions that offers independent, free, objective, multidimensional, updated, and useful information about the universities’ performances across the world.

This ranking’s main objective is to promote open access to generated knowledge of the university by looking into the quantity and quality of web contents.

Based on the Webometrics website, the ranking web is not a ranking of university websites but a ranking of universities that uses both webometric (all missions) and bibliometric (research mission) indicators. Editors of the ranking web are scientists working at a world-class public research institution with considerable experience in metrics-guided evaluation.

Other top universities include the University of the Philippines (System), University of the Philippines Diliman, De La Salle University Manila, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology, University of San Carlos, Mapua Institute of Technology, and Silliman University.

CMU is also on the 5747th and 2000th places in both the world and continental rankings, respectively. (RGPadoginog)
