CMU receives QS 3-Star award in Macau

Central Mindanao University (CMU) has officially received the prestigious QS 3-Star Award, granted by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a renowned global higher education rating organization.  CMU’s QS World Ranking Coordinator, Dr. Roger J. Tan, accepted this honor on behalf of the university on November 5, 2024, at the Galaxy International Convention Center in Macau SAR, China.

The University’s QS 3-Star rating reflects its commitment to quality education and institutional excellence. The rating includes significant highlights:

5 Star Ratings: CMU excelled in the categories of Good Governance, Facilities, and Social Impact.

4 Star Ratings: The university received high marks for its Research and Teaching Capabilities.

3 Star Ratings: CMU demonstrated solid performance in Employability, Biological Sciences Program Strength, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives.

2 Star Ratings: CMU scored a 2-star rating in the Global Engagement category.

Ranked 153rd in Southeast Asia and within the 851-900 bracket in Asia, CMU’s achievement reinforces its regional influence and commitment to sustainable practices and global citizenship.

“This award showcases our strengths on an international level, and we hope to attract more international students to our university,” Dr. Tan remarked.

CMU’s QS 3-Star Award aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals by advancing quality education, fostering inclusivity, supporting economic growth, enhancing infrastructure, promoting social impact, and building global partnerships.
