CMU nails Best Paper, Presenter at ICEAT 2024

Central Mindanao University emerged as Best Technical Paper and Best Oral Presenter among the 41 presenters at the 3rd International Conference on Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology (iCEAT) 2024, organized by the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology-University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) on March 14-15, 2024 via Zoom.

Under the overarching theme of “Exploring Adaptive Engineering Applications for Industry 5.0,” this conference served as a pivotal platform for uniting experts to delve into adaptive engineering applications essential for the evolving landscape of Industry 5.0. The event featured seven parallel sessions encompassing diverse engineering disciplines, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and insights.

Engr. Niño Louie R. Boloron, a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering, was recognized for his outstanding technical paper on power generation forecasting using traditional machine learning models.

In an interview, Engr. Boloron expressed heartfelt gratitude to CMU, his mentors, and the esteemed review committee of the conference, sharing, “All glory to God for this victory. Thank you, CMU, for the training. Thank you Dr. Constancio M. Verula Jr., Dr. Rex O. Yadao, Dr. Einstine M. Opiso, and Dr. Tristan G. Magallones, Jr. for the guidance and support. Thank you, review committee, for recognizing the potential of the paper. “

Moreover, Engr. Jerric R. Delfin, an alumnus of CMU’s Mechanical Engineering program (Batch 2017), garnered an accolade as the Best Oral Presenter. His groundbreaking research on thermoacoustic instability captivated the audience, showcasing the caliber of talent nurtured within CMU’s academic ecosystem. Although no longer affiliated with CMU, Engr. Delfin shares that he remains a proud “CMUAN.”

CMU’s remarkable performance at iCEAT 2024 stands as a testament to its unwavering dedication to engineering excellence and its pivotal role in propelling solutions for Industry 5.0 and beyond.
