Aside from hand sanitizers, CMU also provides chlorine solutions for foot bath and tire sprays in checkpoints and hospitals.
Through the efforts of Dr. Rolito G. Eballe and Dr. Alan P. Dargantes, CMU received gallons of purified water, and bulk amounts of chlorine powder from private companies like MGM owned by Panganiban Family.
The donated chlorine powder and gallons of purified water were forwarded to the Natural Science Research Center and will be handled by our university chemists to formulate a chlorine solution following the preparation protocol of World Health Organization (WHO).
According to Dr. Eballe, aside from chlorine powder they also collected ten empty 18L-capacity bottles as the container to the chlorine solution.
As of April 1, 2020, ten 18L containers of chlorine solutions were forwarded to the University Hospitals ready for distribution.
Dr. Eballe advised the municipalities who wish to ask for chlorine solutions that they should bring their own containers. (IADalipe-Neri)
