Inspiring a new generation of volunteers, the guest speaker during the National Service Training Program – Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) underscored the value of serving the people.
Office of Civil Defense Region 10 Director Antonio B. Sugarol looked back at his training as a reserve officer and his work in disaster risk reduction and management. He also reiterated the importance of enrolling in NSTP.
“NSTP is designed to enhance the active participation of the young people and those not so young to contribute to the general welfare of the Filipinos and our beloved motherland,” Dir. Sugarol said.
Dir. Sugarol also commended the dedication and perseverance of the students in completing the training. He also added that this training made them dependable in times of need.
“Your skills in life-saving techniques and disaster risk reduction and management surely will inspire hope and provide reassurance to people that in times of need, the community has you,” Dir. Sugarol added.
Furthermore, Dir. Sugarol also encouraged them to continue inspiring others to volunteer and serve the country.
“When called upon in any community service that comes along in whatever capacity let your actions inspire others to volunteer, to serve, to be of service to our country,” he urged.
Lastly, Dir. Sugarol reminded the students to continue their learning and find ways to help their communities.
“You must continue to evolve and build up your knowledge and skills and seek out ways to contribute to your communities and beyond,” Dir. Sugarol said.
