DILG recognizes CMU, faculty members as esteemed partners in local governance

Central Mindanao University (CMU) and selected faculty members have been recognized by Bukidnon’s Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as highly esteemed partners in promoting good local governance.

The recognition was conferred during the awarding ceremony titled “Pasidunog: Reinforcing the Imperatives of Good Local Governance,” organized by DILG-Bukidnon and held at the Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater on December 11, 2024. This event marks the first in Bukidnon, celebrating exemplary contributions to local governance.

CMU received the award in acknowledgment of its significant contributions, unwavering commitment, and support for advancing good local governance in Bukidnon. A notable aspect of this collaboration was the involvement of four faculty members from the Department of Social Sciences, who served as regional evaluators for the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). On behalf of the University President, Dr. Rolito G. Eballe,  the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jose S. Valmorida,  received the award for CMU.

Additionally, selected faculty members were recognized for their expertise in the development and implementation of Localized Deradicalization Modules for former rebels. This ongoing project is conducted in partnership with the Provincial Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) Committee and DILG Bukidnon. Their contributions to this initiative have been instrumental in supporting peace and development efforts in the province.
