CMUEAI Day showcases talents, sportsmanship, social services

The Central Mindanao University Employees Association Incorporated (CMUEAI) through the CMUEAI Youth, organized this year’s CMUEAI Day Celebration mainly for the non-teaching personnel including the job order staff to participate in the celebration at the University Convention Center and Sports Complex on February 16, 2024.

CMUEAI Youth officers prepared various activities for enjoyment and provided a venue to showcase employees’ talents and sportsmanship: ball games like basketball and volleyball, Laro ng Lahi, Tiktok Dance Competition, Raffle Draw, Tug of War, Best Selfie/Grufie, and Ms. CMUEAI 2024, Mothers Edition, were some of the highlights of the event.

Simultaneously, a caravan took place with the agency partners from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), Cocolife Insurance through Landbank, Tagum Cooperative, and BUGEMCO which offered their services to assist the employees, benefits, and other opportunities as government workers, and a Civil Service Commission seminar.

In her opening message, Ms. Iyren Dalipe-Neri, CMUEAI Youth President, emphasized the importance of the non-teaching staff “as equally important as the faculty” of this university. “CMUEAI Day is a time to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our non-teaching personnel, whose hard work forms the backbone of our institution,” Ms. Dalipe-Neri added.

Additionally, Ms. Neri expressed her gratitude to the current administration for their support in making it possible for the annual celebration honoring non-teaching staff to take place and recognize them as one of the university’s vital sectors.

In his message, Dr. Eballe commended the efforts of CMUEAI officers and expressed his full support for the CMUEIA activities and projects intended for the non-teaching personnel and support staff of every office. “Congratulations to the officers of our CMUEAI for planning, implementing, and conducting this particular day for the CMUEAI,” Dr. Eballe said.

CMUEAI is a recognized employee association for the non-teaching personnel of CMU that promotes the fraternal, social, moral, spiritual, cultural, economic, and intellectual well-being of its members as stated in the Constitution and By-laws of CMUEAI. Also, CMUEAI represents and arranges with the university administration pertaining to the Collective Negotiating Agreement (CNA) between the university and the association.

An interview with Mr. Paul Adorable, CMUEAI President, highlighted the opportunities for availing of social services given to job-order personnel and being part of the celebration. “The CMUEAI Board looks into all the issues and concerns affecting the interests of employees, especially those in lower ranks,” Mr. Adorable affirmed.

In addition, Mr. Adorable highlighted the opportunities facilitated by the CMUEAI that were open to all non-teaching personnel, including job orders, to have access to social services, especially from the SSS, that can now be availed of through payroll deduction.
