Central Mindanao University (CMU) hosted the 13th Federation of Agriculture Students in Mindanao (FASMin) Congress from February 3-7, 2025.
With the theme “Sustainable Agriculture for Resilient Mindanao: Innovations for a Greener Future,” the congress served as a vital platform for agriculture students, professionals, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and drive sustainable agricultural advancements in the region.

Representing the University President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, Vice President for Administration Prof. Hermie P. Pava said during his opening remarks that the event is a call to action for a sustainable future.
“This reminds us of our greater purpose, one that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture,” Prof. Pava said.
Prof. Pava also encouraged the delegates to actively engage and collaborate in strengthening the agriculture sector in the face of climate and economic challenges.

Moreover, Dr. Eric Randy R. Politud, President of the Association of Deans, Senior Faculty, and Heads of Agriculture Schools in Mindanao, Inc. (ADFHASMin), reminded delegates of their critical role in shaping the future of agriculture.
“We are not here to simply witness change. We are here to lead it,” Dr. Politud declared, urging students to take the congress seriously and see every activity as a stepping stone for their future careers.
