In celebration of its 114th Founding Anniversary, Central Mindanao University (CMU) hosted the 49th Rodeo sa Musuan on September 14-15, 2024 at the Catching Corral, Beef Cattle Project, Musuan, Bukidnon.
A total of 12 teams from CMU and other schools in Mindanao competed in a variety of cattle and non-cattle rodeo events, such as four-man carambola, team casting, whip cracking, and lassoing. To engage the audience, interactive games were also organized.
Claveria Cowboys from the University of Science and Technology in Southern Philippines – Claveria bagged the first place. Team A of the CMU – ORGASMS was hailed as the first runner-up. The second runner-up was the Xavier University Rodeo Team. Mountain View College Rodeo Team completed the top four as the third runner-up. Clea Robbs V. Galendez of Ranchers Club Philippines – CMU Chapter was crowned as Ms. Rodeo 2024. Aldo D. Binahao of Claveria Cowboys and Sharra Lou Magan of CMU – Organization of Animal Science Major Students (CMU-ORGASMS) were hailed as Rodeo King and Queen, respectively.
The event also marked the 50th anniversary of CMU – Society for the Advancement of Animal Science (SAAS). Together with SAAS, the rodeo was organized by the Resource Generation and Management through the Livestock Enterprise Office, CMU – ORGASMS, alongside sponsors and alumni.
