Office Administration students champ 4th PASOA Mindanao Convention

Faculty and students from Office Administration Department under the College of Business Management was hailed as champion in the 4th PASOA Mindanao Convention held at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theatre, Malaybalay City last Feb. 10.

The university’s chapter of the Philippine Association of Students in Office Administration (PASOA) organized and facilitated the said event together with Mindanao Arts and Technology Institute (MATI) as host institution.

“PASOA-CMU as the mother chapter played a great role in making the PASOA-Mindanao a recognized student organization in the Philippines,” said Dr. Teresita Pepito, CBM dean.

This year’s theme was dubbed “Converging Office Professionals in the ASEAN World.”  Included in the convention was the International Assessment for Intel Easy Steps Digital Literacy Orientation and Assessment.

The university sent 2nd year and 3rd year students of the Office Administration Department together with Dr. Teresita F. Pepito, president, Philippine Association of Educators in Office Administration Foundation Inc. (PAEOAFI) Mindanao; Dr. Gamaliela A. Dumancas, PAEOAFI Mindanao PIO, and Office Administration department chair; Mr. Argel M. Vallecer, PAEOAFI Mindanao treasurer and PASOA Adviser; and Ms. Hazelle M. Hibaya.

“In behalf of Office Administration Department, we thank the CMU administration for allowing us and our students to attend the 4th PASOA Mindanao Convention. And to all the PASOANs, thank you for doing your best and thank you for bringing home the bacon,” said Mr. Argel Vallecer, PASOA adviser.

The winners of the PASOA Mindanao Convention will compete in the upcoming PASOA National Convention this November.

Seven hundred thirty (730) delegates from nine schools all over Mindanao participated in the convention. They were from the Assumption College of Nabunturan, Compostella Valley; Golden Heritage Polytechnic College, Cagayan de Oro City; Mindanao Arts and Technological Institute, Malaybalay City; Mountain View College, Valencia City; Notre Dame of Tacurong College; Philippine Countryville College, Maramag; Philippine College Foundation, Valencia City; and San Isidro College, Malaybalay.
