CMU University President  Dr. Maria Luisa  Rupac- Soliven  said that the discussions on  Bansang Moro Basic Law and West Philippine Sea Issues’  are  timely considering that the University is celebrating the 50/ 105 Anniversary Celebration.     “It is also but fitting to  be educated on matters that have issues nationwide”, Dr. Soliven said during the University Forum held at the Farmers Training Center on September 17, 2015.

Magdalo Representative  Gary C. Alejano was the Guest of Honor during the event.

Dr. Soliven said  that the students, faculty members, staff, alumni, and guests are  already  aware of the discussions on Bansang Moro and even the encroachment of  China. “I am also happy that you have discussed matters relative to disaster, but we are not excused to it. In fact, we just experienced that weeks ago,”  said Dr. Soliven and even cited  the saying of  Nelson Mandela that “  Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.”

Meanwhile, Cong. Alejano asked the participants if  they are ready to protect the country based on the Philippine Constitution,  particularly on Article 16, Section 6. Physical Education Professor  Gregorio  Ramos  assured  Cong. Alejano that he is very much ready to defend the country and further asked the  long term strategy to be implemented.  Cong. Alejano admitted that as of date, the  said issue has not yet been appreciated by the national government and that further discussion is needed for the purpose.
