CMU MAINTAINS ISO 9001:2015 CERTIFICATION

Central Mindanao University (CMU) has once again demonstrated its commitment to quality management and continuous improvement as it successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 certification following a two-day Surveillance Audit conducted on March 3-4, 2025, by TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines.

The Surveillance Audit assessed CMU’s compliance with international quality management system standards, focusing on key processes, institutional efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The auditors from TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines reviewed CMU’s quality management procedures, internal documentation, and adherence to best practices.

Based on the audit results, CMU recorded no major Non-Conformity (NC). However, three minor findings and five opportunities for improvement were identified. Meanwhile, Prof. Erwin P. Ambasa,  OQA Assistant Director and ISO Manager, expressed the university’s dedication to proactively address minor Non-Conformities by improving the university’s systems, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.

In the closing meeting, the auditors concluded that CMU had successfully met the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, leading to the recommendation for the maintenance of its certification. This achievement highlights the university’s dedication to upholding high standards in academic and administrative operations.

In his message, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jose S. Valmorida expressed his gratitude to the external auditors, administrative council members, process owners, internal quality auditors, and deputized document controllers for their tireless efforts in ensuring compliance with quality management standards. He further stated that the university acknowledged the insights provided by the auditors and pledged to continuously enhance its processes to better serve its stakeholders. “We truly appreciate the opportunity to learn from your findings and recommendations. We will carefully review and implement these to further elevate the quality standards of our university. We will act promptly to address the necessary improvements,” Dr. Valmorida asserted.  [Iyren Dalipe Neri]
