It’s officially midterm exam week! You’ve prepared, sacrificed, and worked hard to get to this point. Now, it’s time to trust yourself and give your absolute best. May this week be filled with focus, clarity, and confidence.

Here are some tips to help you stay on top of your game:

• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲: Study in 25-minute blocks followed by a 5-minute break. It keeps your brain fresh and prevents burnout.

• 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹: Instead of just re-reading your notes, quiz yourself. Try explaining a concept out loud as if you’re teaching it to a friend.

• 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Find a quiet spot in the library or a cozy corner where you won’t be easily distracted by your phone.

• 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻: Swap sugary snacks for “brain foods” like nuts, fruits, or dark chocolate to avoid a sugar crash.

• 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗱: Lightly reviewing your most difficult material right before sleep can help your brain solidify those memories overnight.

• 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲. Make sure you’re getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and keeping up with your studies.

In view of a recent Facebook Live broadcast by Mr. Rodel B. Claro containing statements and concerns relating to Mr. George Caesar B. Gewan, Director of the Office of Security Services (OSS) and current member of the University Housing and Relocation Committee (UHRC), the University deems it appropriate to issue this official statement to clarify matters and guide the public accordingly.

Central Mindanao University (CMU) upholds the constitutional right of every citizen to freedom of expression. However, this right does not extend to false, defamatory, malicious, or misleading statements that harm the reputation of University officials, employees, students, or the institution.

The public is hereby reminded that posting or disseminating unfounded allegations, fabricated claims, or unauthorized materials through social media may constitute violations of applicable laws, including those on libel, cyberlibel, and related offenses, and may result in appropriate legal and administrative action.

CMU strongly directs all concerned parties to bring grievances to the proper University offices and other established channels, where matters are addressed with due process, fairness, and transparency. Resorting to public platforms instead of official mechanisms undermines constructive resolution and may expose individuals to liability under the law.

The University remains firm in its commitment to professionalism, integrity, and accountability, and calls on everyone to exercise responsibility, prudence, and respect in all public communications

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 08, Series of 2026, issued by Atty. Jose Joel P. Doromal, Municipal Mayor of Maramag, classes and work in the University are suspended from February 5 to 6, 2026 due to Tropical Storm Basyang affecting Northern Mindanao. This is to ensure the safety of everyone.

Offices/units in the University whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, security, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.

All concerned are advised to take necessary precautions and continuously check PAGASA.
