40 CMU Agriculture graduates hired by World-Class Agribiz Company

Forty fresh graduates and alumni from Central Mindanao University’s (CMU) College of Agriculture have secured employment with Biotech Farms Incorporated, a world-class agribusiness company known for its high-quality pork and egg products in Mindanao. The hiring process, facilitated by the Office of Alumni Relations and Linkages (OARL), saw candidates from various programs, including Animal Science, Crop Science, and Entomology, among others, successfully landing positions.

The recruitment process took place on July 18 and 19, 2024, at the College of Agriculture’s A Hall 1, where the candidates underwent a comprehensive face-to-face interview and written examination. Mr. Nasario P. Mahinay, a faculty member of the Soil Science Department and a former employee of Biotech Farms, played a significant role in the process. As an Alumni Mentor—a program under the OARL designed to monitor graduates’ employability—Mr. Mahinay provided career advice and academic guidance to students, particularly those in agriculture.

Biotech Farms expressed their satisfaction with the caliber of candidates they met at CMU, noting that some of their veterinarians are also CMU alumni who participated in the recruitment process.

The successful hiring of these 40 graduates reflects positively on the University and its commitment to producing highly qualified professionals in the agricultural sector. [Iyren Dalipe Neri]
